He joined the BMV Group in 2015 as Post-Trade Chief Executive Officer and acting as Senior Manager of the Mexican CSD. He has more than 30 years of experience in the financial sector, with an outstanding track record at leading institutions such as Bancomer, ING-Barings Casa de Bolsa, and Citibanamex.
Throughout his career, he has played a key role in the governance and development of financial market infrastructure. He served as a member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of Indeval for 14 years, was a founding member of the Board and the Executive Committee of the Central de Valores (CCV), and served for seven years on the Technical Committee of Asigna. He also served as President of the Association of Central Securities Depositories of the Americas (ACSDA). He leads and drives the Group’s most important strategic project, “Digital Evolution.”
Julio has a solid track record in securities deparment operations, custody, clearing and settlement; He currently serves as Chief Operations and Settlement Officer of Indeval. He has over 35 years of experience in the financial sector, in key areas that have allowed him to develop a comprehensive understanding of financial and post-trade infrastructure. He has held executive positions, notably his role as Sr Vice President of Operations and Control at JP Morgan Mexico, as well as his participation at BBVA, where he was in charge of custody operations. He has also been active in associations such as ACSDA, WFC, ISSA, and SMPG.
In his current role, he is responsible for critical areas and the functioning of the Mexican financial system and participates in the Digital Evolution project, contributing a comprehensive vision for the improvement of operative processes.
